Romarin is situated on the border of the Dordogne and Lot-et-Garonne, the ‘Tuscany’ of France. The area is well known for its hot summers, stunning countryside, vineyards, chateaux, mediaeval hilltop villages with their busy markets, brocantes and summer fairs and, of course, the local gastronomical specialities of foie gras, magret of duck, prunes, truffles and the locally produced wines. There is a championship standard golf course within half an hour's drive. In July and August lively night markets serving food with music and dancing take place in nearby towns.
Romarin offers a truly relaxing holiday in stunning countryside with an abundance of wildlife.
The pretty bastide villages of Monpazier, Villereal, Issigeac, Eymet and Monflanquin are all within a 20 minute drive. Bergerac, with a good variety of shops, excellent restaurants, vineyards, museums and the beautiful river Dordogne is also only a 20 minute drive away. For the more adventurous, the Dordogne river valley, between Domme and Lalinde, offers opportunities to go canoeing, take a boat trip, visit the Chateau des Milandes or walk in the spectacular gardens of Marqueyssac.
